Galvanised Iron Street Light Poles are commercial for their significant implication in modern street designs. They are fabricated with ample facilities to simplify the updated socio-cultures such as banner brackets, output boxes, and attachments to install security cameras, etc. The poles are light-weight, easy to maintain and durable. The zinc coating on top makes them highly non-corrosive.
The manufacturing process of the galvanised poles consists of the following steps:
The welding involved in GI poles must follow the standards of the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) process. In case of galvanization coating, thickness of 70 micron should be executed in single dipping. Zinc is used as the component in the galvanization process. Zinc works as an anode that protects the inner-side metal when the outer portion is barren. Polygonal or hexagonal in shape, the GI poles can be useful in any weather conditions.
The installation procedure is easy and hassle free. There are two types of GI poles that are positioned in different ways, such as, Anchor-based and Direct Burial.
All types of GI poles have an in-built hand hole cover and a pole cap. The hand hole cover is helpful for electricians to make connections, or maintain internal wiring and replace it in case of any damage. Pole caps are essential when lights are mounted on its sides.
The usage of GI poles is approved for various public and private sector undertakings by Indian Railways, Port Trust, and other developmental authorities and corporations. Their length ranges from 5m to 12m. Since their length can be up to 12m, they are widely used as lightning poles. For better support, the pole shafts are provided with a stiff flange plate of fitted thickness. It needs to be attached to the base by 4 foundation bolts. The base plate is welded with the pole from both inside and outside for a strong hold.
Various accessories can be attached with the galvanised poles and make them more adaptable for various usages, such as banner brackets, outlet boxes, etc. All these accessories add value in municipal and commercial applications.
